WHAT IS THE FDNY SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY?
The FDNY Summer Leadership Academy, affectionately known as Boot Camp, is an elite, discipline driven program that will help you realize your potential as well as help you develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime. This program will push you physically, mentally, and academically. The Summer Leadership Academy is designed to reinforce the FDNY’s core values of Service, Bravery, Safety, Honor, Dedication and Preparedness.

WHEN WILL THE 2017 FDNY SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY TAKE PLACE?
The program will be held from Monday, August 21st, 2017 through Friday, August 25th, 2017 at the FDNY EMS Academy located on Fort Totten in Bayside, Queens.

HOW DO I GET TO THE SUMMER
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY?The FDNY will provide transportation to and from Fort Totten each day. Students will be picked up at the FDNY High School at 8:30 am and will be dropped back off at the FDNY High School by 3pm

DO I RECEIVE A STIPEND FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY?
Students who complete all five days of the program will receive a stipend of $125. Partial stipends are not available for the Summer Leadership Academy.
WILL MEALS BE PROVIDED?
The FDNY will provide lunch each day. In addition, we will ensure that
students have sufficient water to drink throughout the day.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE SUMMER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY?
If you are accepted into the program, on day one, all participants must wear black or dark blue basketball shorts, sneakers, and a white t-shirt. Female students must wear appropriate sports type bra. No hats, doo rags or headscarves are permitted.
